Sunday 160 - Winding Down

The last hot breath of summer
rushed from the hills
to the valley below.
Warming with all its might
the cool air
left by fall's stealthy visit
the night before.

These are summer's last gasps, I fear. Fall is nice, but too short here in New England. I sometimes think of fall as winter's hit man, sent to pay summer a drive-by visit.

Here's my 160.

Hey! I screwed up. What can I say?

Yep, Monkey Man. I smell winter's breath, it is coming! Why does everyone here in Naples Florida laugh at me when I say that?

I feel like a new Peep here, but I have two 160's to submit. Maybe it will work if you click HERE

What is cool? I live in Phoenix. I have no clue. What is rain, too? It rained once this summer. (Permanent frown)

Looks like we're on the same thought track this week. Excellent 160 from you. It's exactly how I'm feeling.

Though I took a slightly more arboreal view!

What a breathtaking picture!!

I'm sad that summer is almost over. It's been the worst and best summer of my life.

Hope you and yours are happy and well.

:)

You know how I feel about autumn... I'm busy buying boots and washing sweaters. Can't wait for weather in the 90s to be a distant memory...

Who, after all doesn't like to snuggled by the fire with a kindred spirit?
