Sunday 160 - Uninspired Inspiration

The monochromatic sky
blended dull hues of gray
with duller hues of gray.
Only the hope for the clear shimmer
of rain and a rainbow
might help brighten the day.

MM, this one matches perfectly to the mood I am in! Met a friend yesterday- a childhood friend. We lost contact 8 years back!

Her state of being has shocked me no end.. your words describe her present state of mind n life- thank you for this meaningful Sunday 160!!

The gray day was yesterday hopefully Sunday brings some sun our way, but tomorrow is not as bright even if blessed with golden light. That isn't my contribution this week, but may act as introduction and sequence from your poem to mine. You can find mine at http://lemoldman.blogspot.com (The Old Man and the Syllables) It is entitled "A Stinging Attack".

Rain, that's all that is missing from making it a typical Northwest day.

Shades of grey: pretty much a metaphor for the inner workings of my mind this past week. Thank God that sunny skies appear on the horizon!

Mine is HERE

Sounds pretty gloomy for a day's weather but it made for a nice 160! Central Florida is sunny--so far.

Here's mine today: http://bodhirose.wordpress.com/2011/04/17/smokin/

Well, my friend, this is nicely done. Dull hues of gray highlighted with duller hues of gray is a very good image. I hope you get your rainbow. Here on the central CA coast we had wonderful blue skies, temps in the low 80s. Like Eeyore, I say it's sunny today but it probably will rain tomorrow... in fact, that's the forecast.

have you been reading my mind?

Pacific NW weather... We have a full spectrum of words for "overcast," "rain," and "donkeys."

Okay, maybe that's just me. I love the burros.

Sure, but was it snowing? Was there a blizzard? 'Cause that would complete the scene, like the kind of blizzard where people are trapped in their cars for days!!! That's what I'm talkin' 'bout!

PS: I think you and your wife need to collaborate and write a book of poems. Then I would come to the book signing and stalk your table the entire time!

If its grey, there are likely puddles to stomp. Yesterday was so beautiful here, it hurt my teeth AND a certain daughter begged to be outdoors. I'd like to order another day of sun, please!
