Brain Worm - Sunday 160

The Worm was everywhere.
He loved this time of year.
In stores.
In the car.
Even on television.
He left his merry tune.
“Have a Holly Jolly Christmas”, he said.

There are certain songs that are just plain evil we love to hear at this time of year. Hear just a word or two and the song gets stuck in your mind for what seems like, well, forever. The blessed Burl Ives' "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas" does that to me....it creeps sickeningly into my head sticks....and since this is a time of year to be generous, I thought I should share. So I give this gift to each and every one of you. Enjoy and have a great week before Christmas.

This is in the holly jolly spirit of it all... nice photo!

My post 160, I confuse I changed it -- it was a perfect 160, and from an excerpt of a longer poem... then I changed it after I posted... it must be the season --

I don't mind Burl Ives...he's a classic and as long as it's only this time of year I will tolerate it. Now, the songs I find stupid, insipid, and irritating are "Last Christmas" and Paul McCartney's "Wonderful Christmas Time". They make me scream and run from the room. Oh and those dogs barking Jingle Bells...please. stop. now!

My 160 is up. Click here

nothing like those earworms to drive us crazy! :)))

Merry Christmas, MM! The Christmas songs that bug me the most is when they take a perfectly wonderful carol and syncopate the crap out of...removes all the joy.

Oh, those dratted ear worms! I just had to jettison "Silent Night" with a little Ozzy. It worked well, but now my mind is stuck on a crazy train.

My kids got that movie in their advent calendar. A great movie, but hate when a song gets stuck. I am playing along here today.

Right now the worms that have been bothering are all singing children's songs. They are so friggin' annoying.

Happy Holidays, my talented friend.
