A gentle breeze
danced across his back
cooling beads of sweat
and giving temporary relief
from the sweltering heat.
He enjoyed
the life giving warmth
of summer.

Have a great summerweekend!
Me likes.
Harley today sans leather (gasp) and it was awesome!
This hits close to home for me. I had to wash my face three times today to get the salt off from sweating.
My 160 is here
there seems a small step between life giving and life sucking...went into triple digits again yesterday...nice 160 monkey...
mine is up!
I do love the summertime! Hot day, slight breeze...sounds just about perfect. :)

PS - mine is up. I thought I had the whole hyperlink thing figured out, but I guess not. :)
Ijust let the dogs lick the sweat off me, that way i know they are having both their need for water and salt met.
Nice one! A bit reversed from my Tanka. The humidity is in a holding pattern round here...
Enjoying th' Chuck Berry :)
For every beautiful benefit there is usually a price to be paid. A little sweat for a gorgeous summer day? I say the "Price is Right".
Love this 160.
Mine is up.

Awww I love summer. Can't wait until it swings around here again.
I enjoy summer too, except when I don't. Your gentle breeze is what's missing on some days of sweltering heat. Nice 160, MM.
I’m up here.
I also love the summer time, but instead of waiting for a breeze that may never come, I just use the pool. My job is hot enough (running ovens in a bakery), but I always feel sorry for people working outside when it hits 100.
Mine is up.
ACH! @Claudia, I cannot access your blog!
Life giving in some places not so much in others! My poor gardens!
Here's mine: http://harrischanningauthor.blogspot.com/
Ahh... nothing like a cooling breeze on a hot summer's day.
My 160 is here
Oh, yes, Monkey Man, I have had this happen to me almost every afternoon here in our gorgeous valley. Thank God for breezes. What on earth is that photo of?
Very timely given the +90 degree days we're having. Lovely.
My 160 is at http://randomthoughtsandmusings.wordpress.com/2010/07/25/seized/
Ahhh...sweet summer with all that salty sweat!! :)
Super 160!!!
Here is mine for this week!
Happy Sunday!!!
Claudia, I can't get in, either.
Gospelwriter - I am sorry I cannot leave a comment on your blog for some odd reason. Thank you for your poetic 160. MM
Oooh..that was very nice. I love the feel of the sun sinking down to my bones! Although, it's been a little TOO hot for my liking lately. :)
Great post, as always MM. I hope you are enjoying your summer!
I will try not to be so much like Brett Fahvre sp? I had to ask my kids who he was but they did explain what he is "famous" for.
;)
Take good care!!
Putting this up for my compadre
pete marshall
the haunting
enjoy
It has been extreme weather here, but in this you also give a presence of a slight breeze along the heat of summer, cooling a bit within the sweat. Nicely written.
Gotta love the summer including the sweaty part
Thanks MM
k so this one is for me
the giant
I just love summer, but man, it's HOT, especially wearing a flight suit all day...nice 160 tribute to summer. Mine's about the weather too...
Excellent! It's 95F here today...I relate to this one :)
My offering is here:http://tracyhsays.com/2010/07/25/july-25-2010-sunday-160/
Thanks monkeyman!
I don't know, MM... I think this guy's spent a little too much time in the summer sun - breeze or not, his back looks pretty crispy!

it is a cool treat for a hot day.
mine is up!
thanks for reading!
Very nice. I'm more of an in the shade kinda gal.
I really enjoy these short pieces, it seems all I have time for. What's a novel?
I will blog sporadically, but thanks for the view of skin! Keep a-musing us, hee hee.
my muse is on the fly, HERE
I NEED WINTER NOW.
Been away (health probs) but back. Just wanted to check in and say HELLO! :) Hope all is well!
Truth is really relative... in my country, we anticipate death by summer heat!
I could feel the heat from this. Oh wait, our AC is broken. Still a good one, Monkey.
