Billowing smoke rose steadily
from the back of the house.
Flames occasionally added
spikes of yellow and orange
to white clouds.
Mixed with the flames and smoke
was the distinct smell of burning flesh.
It was a horrifying scene
that had the family in tears.
Dad had burnt the hamburgers to a crisp once again.

OMG...what an ending. I was so prepared for the worst. LOL I've so been there with the grill. Well done. Have a great Friday :)
A meaty ending there.
OMG OMG, You are so WICKED!
I almost have a heart attack!
Thank God it was just hamburgers.
Now I can never look at hamburgers,
without the image of your words. lol
Have a great weekend.
hugs
shakira
ha. you are too funny MM! too much a fan myself to let the meat burn. fun 55.
mine is up!
I have only served briquette burgers once and I have long since stopped drinking while I cook.
Talk about surprise endings. Great! My brother burnt a whole chicken once because he forgot it was on the grill.
Flash 55 - Earthquake
One Single Impression - Running
Time for a new grill brother?
Someone needs to take over from Dad.
LOL! Good times out of doors - something to look forward to again very soon!
When I got to the "burnt flesh" part, I was thinking - "I don't like this" - but then had pure relief!
I agree with the comment just above me! I was thinking 'Wow, this is kind of morbid and depressing to read in the morning...' and then got to the end and laughed out loud.
It was a good reminder that sometimes situations don't end up the way you're expecting, but much better. thanks'
OMG you're just down right EEEEEVILL...lol! Great 55!
lol...okay you had me going on this one...
wonderful job!!!
warm smiles,
I'm loving all the black comedy this week!
Here's mine.
Well done! Would that be an appropriate response after this?
The only question left after this, is "Hey family what do you want on your burger"?
Mine's here: Shirt Tales
LOL! Tricky.
Thanks for giving me a smile.
It's almost time to fire up those grills!
I'll never eat hamburgers again!
How funny!
Oh, I hate when that happens. Another one bites the dust...
But not You! You rocked the 55 again... Great job!
Oh good one. Nice twist at the end.
ROFL! I loved this one, you set it up so well. My husband's an all-or-nothing guy when it comes to the grill; his burgers and sausages always come out looking more like a holocaust than a supper, he can't help himself.
GOOD one, MM! And sounds familiar to me. Hmmm. Maybe it's happened around here a time or two! D
This sounds like my husband barbecuing a steak. Poor guy. You've done it again, MM. Betcha it took you five minutes, right?
drinking and cooking doesn't go well together, definitely.. ;D
Great Big Hugs, Monkey Man!
This gave me a giggle. Me Dad always burns the meat.
They were hungry!
Reminds me of the early days of the gas grill in our family.
LOL!
Aloha from Hawaii my monkey Friend!
Comfort Spiral
I don't know that I've ever known you to burn anything. Now your SON, there were those cinnamon rolls...
Ah...burnt offerings.....good one, MM...
You had me totally grossed out then left me laughing.
Well done...like my burger.
LOL! i love that twist in the end!
How sly you are! I was all prepared for a terrible outcome. Oh, wait... burned hamburgers??? Well, OK, that's kind of terrible.
My post is up here.
Well done! I actually like mine medium rare.
