55- Insight

A crystalline cloud seemed to blur his sight.
No amount of eye rubbing or blinking
helped to remove this blight.
It had been hardly noticeable until this day.
Worry froze his mind.
His eyes were his life.
Color and imagery his profession.
He cried out for help
and the answer came,
“Dad, clean your glasses.”

What The Hell Wednesday - Poop or Pokey?

As some of you may know from my previous posts, I am a dog owner of course they really own you with all of their demands like - feed me, walk me, pet me, cover me up with my blanket because I'm cold so this story grabbed my attention.

Woman Charged After Refusing To Clean Up After Her Dog

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A Memphis woman who was adamant about not cleaning up after her dog in a park has been charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

It all started when officers saw Kristen Anise Hall's pit bull defecate and watched Hall walk on.

When police told her she needed to clean up the mess, she refused and said she walked her dog there often and never scooped up after it.

When police asked for her identification, Hall is accused of kicking and biting an officer, according to the Commercial Appeal.

She was subdued with help from backup officers.

This story has me wishing I was there to watch this idiot get hauled away. I mean REALLY...should she just have been busted on stupidity alone? GOOD dog owners clean up after their animals. Hell, if I had a CAT, I wouldn't let IT go around "defecating" anywhere it wanted. But I would never have a cat - finicky, egotistic little hairy bastards. No one likes digging in a garden and coming up with those little dirt torpedoes. Ever have a sand box in your back yard???

Well, I digress. This is about little Princess Dogdefecationisokay. Jeez, idiotstick, play nice nice with the police and pick up the poo. But NOOOoooo, she's too good for that! "Why should I pick it up now? My dog shits here all the time. No big deal. It's biodegradable." No it's not, Princess! It carries diseases that can be transmitted to other dogs. It's a walking hazard. AND it stinks....just like your attitude.

I love that the report has to point out that the dog is a pit bull, like only an evil, vicious pit bull would crap on a lawn. But do take note that no dog attacked the police when Princess was biting and kicking. I own a pitty and he might love you to death, but he would never maliciously bite. Bad owners. Bad dogs. Regardless of breed.

The other reason for me posting this story is to remind all you dog owners to please pick up after your pup. That way you will never have to face a police officer who, as he rubs his kicked shin, mutters, "What the Hell?"

One Shot - Cutters

Dead eyes stare blankly into infinite space
unfocused and unblinking.
Seeing neither love nor direction.
Lost in a thoughtless eternity
of what had been
yet without faith in what was to be.
Listless.
Emotionless.
A soul swirling in a hazy mist of indecision,
falling into an unknown abyss
waiting for words to heal,
a spark to light the way.
Cut me so I can feel.

Sunday 160 - Spring Shivers to Life

Spring fashioned itself
in a haze of pinks, whites and greens
on the skeletal frames of trees.
The colors warmed the heart
but temperatures kept you bundled up.

55 - Watch your step

Heads turned as the tall, beautiful figure
walked in the door.
Eyes followed her every step
as she moved through the room
with grace and confidence,
knowing her looks could kill.
Greeting her at a table,
a man pressed his lips to her ear
and gently whispered,
“You have toilet paper attached to your shoe.”

What The Hell Wednesday - Walmart Wars

The dumb burglar and drunken driver kick was getting a bit old, so when I saw the headline below, I was completely taken. Apparently, so was the tip of someone's finger.

Woman Has Fingertip Bitten Off In Walmart Love Triangle Tiff

A Florida Walmart worker who suspected her co-worker of sleeping with her husband was arrested after she allegedly attacked the other woman and bit off part of her finger at the supercenter's parking lot.

Clodia Coicour, 43, was arrested Monday on a charge of aggressive battery with great bodily harm causing permanent disfigurement for the bloody brawl at an East Naples Walmart.

The victim told Collier County deputies that she was leaving work around 7 a.m. when she was suddenly attacked by Coicour near her car.

She told police Coicour threw a spicy substance — possibly pepper spray — in her face, which burned her eyes before Coicour set upon her and bit off the tip of her right ring finger.

Coicour later told deputies that she attacked the woman because she'd heard a rumor she was having an affair with her husband, who also works at Walmart.

The husband and the victim denied the affair to police.

So this encounter is nothing less than Jerry Springer goes to a Walmart parking lot. Without the security. I am especially enamored with the charges of "aggressive battery with great bodily harm causing permanent damage". Boy is that a mouthful....no pun intended. Okay, pun intended and a bad one at that, but sometimes I just can't resist. But "aggressive battery"? What battery isn't aggressive? "Sure I bit off the tip of that slut's finger, your honor, but I didn't do it in an aggressive way."

Then again, maybe  Ms. Coicour what kind of name is that? was just hungry. Or she had a nail biting habit that got a bit out of control. I am sure it had nothing to do with an alleged nefarious affair. After all, the husband and the victim deny the affair and I am sure they are telling the truth. Folks that have affairs are always truthful to their spouses about that sort of thing. Really!

Well, at any rate, you all know what comes next. The Collier County Deputies, as they stepped out of their squad car and saw the bloody face of Ms. Coicour and the finger tip being spit from her mouth probably looked at one another and said, "What the Hell?"

One Shot - Poetry Puddles

Words shattered as they struck the ground
like so many raindrops.
Forming puddles of muddied phrases
no longer making a sensible flow
as they dropped
from the mouths of clouds.
Now they landed
as simple debris strewn letters
rippling to and fro
amid the bubbled splash
of incoming phrases.
A jumble of alphabet soup
from what was once
the brilliant light of thought.

Sunday 160 - Strength of Spirit

He felt the gentle pressure
of a hand lovingly touch his shoulder
as an image appeared in his mind.
"Mom?",
he asked as his eyes opened.
But no being was there.

55 - Foreboding Future

A silence broadcast itself
through the stunned onlookers.
Never had they been witness
to such a tragic circumstance.
Men cried,
women hid the dazed
and innocent eyes
and ears of their children.
With the future now in question,
all they could do
was sadly stumble
through their suddenly shaken lives.
The NFL was on strike.

What The Hell Wednesday - You're Allowed One Call....

It was kind of a yawner of a week in looking for interesting stories about idiots. It was the usual stuff like "Woman Drives into DMV to Mail a Letter" or "Speeder Tells Deputy Dr. Phil Warned him of Alien Invasion" or "Urine Drinker Banned From Public Johns". So I settled on this one....

Man Calls 911 From Jail

Police in Sandusky, Ohio say a man arrested on a disorderly conduct charge called 911 from jail to complain he was being held against his will.

The man had been handcuffed to the door of his holding cell early Sunday because officers said he wouldn't calm down and they were afraid he would hurt himself or cause damage. He'd been arrested in a dispute outside a local bar.

Police took away the man's cell phone after the 911 call was placed and included in the charges against him a count of misuse of 911.

I also liked it because it is short just like my attention span. Several items grab my attention here. First, I want to yell at him "Dude! Of course you are being held against your will.....It's JAIL." When did anyone willingly go to jail? "Excuse me officer, but I was wondering if you could house me for the night? I have always been curious about going to jail and would love the tell of the experience."  Yeah. Right.

Then dude still has his cell phone. Were the police waiting for the TSA for stop by for a pat down? Dude was in a bar fight! Don't you think he might have more on him than his fists? Not that he wasn't sober. I mean all disputes outside local bars usually involve sober folks. Dude was probably there to make amends to someone and the whole deal went south. Just a simple misunderstanding.

As the police were adding the misuse of 911 to this list of charges and taking away dude's cell phone I am sure they looked at one another and said, "What the Hell?"
