55 - That Sinking Feeling

Sinking further and further into the abyss,
he began to flail in panic.
His life was coming down
to these last few second
then a calm came over him.
He spread his arms,
lifted his head
and waited
to be completely
enveloped.
This was one sofa
he would never be able to get up from.

I'd love to spend an entire weekend enveloped in a sofa like that.

Ahhh.
Pass the chips.

What?
I live alone?
There's no one to pass me the chips?
This means I have to get UP again...
*sob*

Thanks for another Friday 55!
Mine's here. :)

You're playing with my emotions. Maybe it was the photo. But on a stormy night anything can happen. What if you can't find the sofa?

Oh if you only knew how many times i sat on that sofa and then someone threw a lariat around me and hoked it to a back hoe and pulled me back to my feet. Remaking oneself is a journey too.

As long as you've got the remote!

I think certain sofas and recliners are designed with gravity wells that make them difficult to escape.

Love the surprise ending. Just lie still. You'll soon wake up to find it was all just a dream.

Oh, I love these poems. So many twists and turns in just a few lines!

Reminds me when I got a new sofa for the in-laws first visit. They sat together and disappeared inside the thing with a pop. I think sofas may be carnivorous.

We all need to look out for man-eating sofas!

Sounds like an expensive piece of furniture to me... but some things are worth it. :)

Tension, suspense, anxiety, surrender... love that you've built drama out of submitting to a sofa.

Hahaha - that's great! I missed it last week.
