55 - Primal Fears

A scream retched forth
from the darkest depths of his soul.
Brought forth
by a fear so deep seated
that he shook in terror
even as the vibration of the sound
pierced ears
and rattled the foundation
of his very essence.
Sadly, it was a story repeated
every time he drove to the dentist’s office.

Great photo/write match-up, related to this a lot, laugh out loud - going to the dentist scares the heck outta me, sharp objects cutting around my mouth. . . shudder.. .

Acckkk! I can't stop staring at the picture!
My dad hates going to the dentist. Mom has no problem with it.
Mom didn't want me to grow up afraid of dentists, so she made sure she was always the one who took me there.

And, indeed, I grew up not afraid of dentistry at all.
Of course, I've been lucky enough to not need any major dental surgery (root canals, wisdom teeth, etc). If I'd needed any of that taken care of, I might very well have become just like the guy in the picture. :)

Thanks for another Friday 55!
Mine's here. :)

Oh, yeah, I'm so familiar with this terror.

Truth is, I have no fear of dentists but do hate novicane. Do all my visits au natural. Crown today...no big deal.

Oh....sweet baby Jesus, where'd you get that picture???? My dentist is very gentle and generous with the drugs. You must be doing something wrong.

And what a set of gnashers he has! LOL

I really didn't need reminding about my FOUR HOUR appointment yesterday!

My 55 are here.

Wonderful! You captured the essence of a dentist visit (or at least what they used to be like). Thankfully mine are not like that anymore.

Love your 55.

Wow. Me too, me too. Love that twist at the end. I did not see it coming.

That picture with those words are exactly how I felt the other day.

Damn! That's intense...but still a little humorous. So far, my dental visits haven't come to that...hope they never do...gulp..

Man that photo is wicked! No wonder dentists have the highest suicide rate of any profession-especially if that's what they conjure up in people's minds :0 Good to see ya, MM.

Oh I so embrace this as the root canal is behind me but the crown work is ahead!

And yet, you made me laugh. :)

Someone took my picture on my last dental visit? Good one, MM.

Dentists get a bad rap. I laughed audibly at the end. Great 55.

Goodness Man! Its not all that bad! Haha, great 55 though & wicked scared pic!

Nice on you being the hero going drug free. I don't blame you on that, as them drugs can do mighty nasty things to a person. So happy I have good teeth :D

You always seem to find that killer last line. I'd rather the dentist than have that picture stuck in my head.
