Dare I? - 55

With his mouse gliding over a pad
in a series of furious click,
he searched his archives
for just the right file.
It was a tricky assignment,
but he knew he was up to the task.
The only question that kept on repeating in his mind was –
“Was it plagiarism to recycle his own 55?”
____________________________

No! This is not a recycled 55
yanked from my archives
because of lack of creativity.
I do well enough on that front
without reaching for some used bit of copy.
But I have to be honest.
The thought crossed my mind.
However, since I didn't act on it.
Well, that makes this fiction.

Just trying to follow the rules, G.

This is a Flash Fiction Friday 55
hosted by Mr. Knowitall.

I sure hope not, though I haven't had to resort to that yet.

Haha! Devious plot, and you might have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for us pesky kids.
(Hmmm - a little Scooby Doo flashback, sorry).

My 55 isn't up yet, but I'll come up with something. Eventually...

I like that you're honest enough to say you considered it. Still, you never seem to run out of material, even if the material is about trying to find material.

so uhhh, errr...
can I save this one for next week?

HA...cool take...I confess, I dig the 55's so much, I have reworked several and have them in a box, under the steps, by the aloe plant

help yourself :-)

Peace, hp

thanks for stopping by

Well that's a moot point isn't it? It's not plagiarism if it's your own work. But.......

Nice thought provoking 55.

You keep stuff in files...I should try that. Might clean up my documents folder.

Fabulously fun! Reuse, recycle--isn't that called "writing." ;)

Good
A few 55s I keep in my archives... some idea you've given me- LOL
:)

Don't sweat the recycling... you seem to have an endless amount of material. I'm jealous because there are days that I have nothing new to post and have considered recycling an old post especailly for those newbies who are following or just lurking on my blog.

and a fun fiction to boot. Sometimes hard to spark up a creative bit by the end of the work week. :0

Ah! Very clever, Monkey Man!

I LOVE it!!

We sit to write a 55, not knowing what the heck we will write and something brilliant like this comes out.

Creativity and Monkey Man so totally rock!!

I think it's funny how often people's 55's are about 55's themselves. Nice one, MM!

hehehhe... what an awesome thought, MM!! Besides, I wanna go green too, you know...
And like you said, it ain't really plagiarism as long as the writings are your own!! :))
But thank goodness for those little things called muses... whhhew!

lol! This was awesome! Always a delight to read your 55s, Monkey Man (and I think that would definitely include recycled ones, too)

Nothing wrong with recycling. You could just say your posts are in syndication.

Olivia said...

This is pretty neat..
You come looking for one- and get another one to read right after it.. :)
I believe at times you make some nice recycled bunch- kinda after- thoughts. It's my own work after all!

wishing you a fab weekend

Brilliant. But it's your blog, and you can cycle or recycle. Your choice.

No, definitely not plagiarism. No, definitely not plagiarism. No ....

You're set for life now! You can paraphrase this 55 week by week . . . after all, you can hardly plagiarise yourself, can you?

Mona said...

nah! Everyone knows it was yours to begin with. I have recycled a lot of my posts in the past " for those who came in late"

Sandra said...

Pretty sure it's not plagiarism! You're good to go for future reference.

Evalinn said...

Lol, that´s funny! :-)

What? We aren't suppose to recycle our posts? I may be in deep doo doo then.
