Green fingers
pushed slowly up
through the cold, hard dirt
reaching for
the light of day.
Even frost and snow
wouldn't deter
their mission.
To colorfully bloom.

Some have thought my posts have been very dark of late, so I am changing it up a bit. I just find dark easier to write...no big deal.
Also, for those who I regularly follow and who follow me, I will be going to Minneapolis for my company's "International Sales Meeting". I hope to check in now and again and maybe even write, but they basically are holding me and all of the other sales staff captive from Monday to Thursday night, 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM. I hope people do stupid things so I can entertain with a blog. We'll just have to wait and see.

A very beautiful 160. I just can't quite get the hang of containing my words to so few as I seem to have the gift of gab.
You will be missed while you are gone. Hang out at the lobby bar ~ that is where all the good stories begin! Looking forward to the blogtales you will have to tell when you return!
Karis

The photo was below the fold...you got me as I thought this poem was about something totally different.
I thought that this was a zombie piece lol!
spring is coming! yay!

Soon enough, soon enough but the west still needs more water no?

Oh, Monkey Man, I loved this 160 and am so jealous of your crocus. However, I have tulips pushing up their green leaves so there! You will be missed. I didn't do a 160 today. I've made it my goal to catch up with you and other blogs since I've been absent for a while, consumed by the nightmare in Haiti. It is good to remember that life, as personified by the crocus, is ever reaching outward toward the light.
Will miss you while you're gone, but I follow you so I will see if you are able to post.
Funny, I didn't even notice your posts were dark lately. Maybe because my mood has been dark lately?
We should have lots of wildflowers this spring from the ton of snow that covered South Park!
:)
Thanks for your comments. I'm sorry I've been a bad bloggy friend. I'll email you tomorrow night in regards to my findings. Have a safe flight!
This is lovely!
pretty pictures, both
How lovely! The photo and the writing. Well done, MM!
Great imagery, and funny, at first it sounded like a creepy graveyard scene, then became plants brought on by spring.
My (first!) 160 is HERE
You're right. This one sounded more lively and upbeat. Nice.
How wonderful, the words and picture, signs of change.
poetic !!! will b back with a post this sunday :)
I love when I see the green pushing up through the soil - it's as though a breath of fresh air just came in the yard and took winter away.
I read it before I looked at the accompanying photo and pictured some kind of daylight craving zombie. I guess my mind gravitates to the dark side of things too.
They remind me of lupines. Nice piece.
Very lovely 160.
I don't mind dark.
How was Minneapolis?
