Sunday 160 - Fall's Cold

A golden eye squeezed open
and greeted the misty morning haze
with a shiver, unable to shake the chill.
Even a fiery display of color
couldn't warm fall’s cold.

For the original Sunday 160 post click here.
If you wish to take the challenge, here is a quick look at the rules:

1. The Sunday 160 only uses 160 characters (including spaces).
2. Keep on schedule - post Sunday.
3. Let me know you have posted via a comment on my site.
4. Visit at least one other Sunday 160.
There are a few Oregonians out there who will recognize this setting.
For those of you from other areas, this is Mt. Hood.
Just an hour from downtown Portland.

This is vividly beautiful MM. I was captivated from the first few words. The entire poem is wonderfully cohesive.

Hi Monkey Man, I've come to play today. :-) I like the rhythm and pacing of your poem. It is what I think a crisp, cool autumn morning is.

Fall's chill has been in the air for a few weeks now, here in Ontario. I know about sunrises seen but not felt...but no spectacular mountains to view them against around here, though. Fabulous shot!

I think you've outdone yourself with this 160, if that's possible. The poem is stunning just like the picture.

Very nice.

Beautiful, MM. And the photo is amazing. I once flew into Portland and saw Mt. Hood's peak up close and personal from the plane window. It was about as close as I ever want to come to a mountain peak while I'm in a plane.

I'm in with a little a wildlife fun

Perfect 160 to compliment a gorgeous picture.

Very ethereal. I had to say something, cuz my brain was stuck on the Eye of Sauruman, from Lord of the Rings. Sorry, I read too much sci-fi and fantasy.

mine is up, happily this time!
have a chilling week!

Wonderful imagery. Yesterday was the first day that I felt fall's cold.

Oh, monkey man, monkey man...sorry I like your blog. It's your fault. Write worse. You don't have to "recognize" the award if you don't wanna. The point was that I was calling out blogs that I haven't been following long, you primate. Blog writing & colon cleansing could be a tough combo. :)
