Left 4 Dead

It was oddly silent
as I walked carefully
through the structure.
I listened carefully
to make sure
my ears were not at fault.
No sounds of continuous gun fire
or screaming zombies.
Sounds that had become
part of life in recent days.

The game was over.

Or perhaps...

...the kids had gone back to school.

In our household when my son was young there was no quiet at "game over" because the new game began in nearly the same instant as the the one before ended.

I longed for the quiet of school days. :)

Another one of your sly zingers. Nice work, Monkey Man. I lost Friday in a discombobulation of days, so mine is up today. It's also a ghoulish piece.

Happy Birthday to Mrs. MM

My kids are looking at me as though a Zombie replaced their ideal mom....

I don't have children and yet I understand... probably because I work with the children of parents who wanted them out of the house over the holidays. :)

OK, I can't even hack the controller on LFD2. Damn. I'm getting old, I used to kick but at just about everything. When did they come up with controllers with 72 different things you have to do at once??
