Mrs. MM found this beautiful "antique" on line and generously gave it to me as a gift. I had forgotten the wonderful sensory experience of typing on an old keyboard. The pressure, sound, even the musty odor of an old attic mixed with the slight smell of ink as keys struck the black ribbon. I hope this to be the first of many posts I will type in throw back fashion. No spell check. No easy cut and paste. Just raw "hand set type". Also, special thanks to Mrs. MM for scanning my typed paper and for taking and Photoshopping in the photo.

Ah, the good ole days. We still have one typewriter at work we sometimes use to make manual changes to a paper manpower schedule. But it's the newer electric version. I haven't used a real old one in what seems like forever now.
What are those two things? The one around the wrist and that thing in front of the hands?

I agree with Brian, that is awesome. Most of my high school and college papers were written on a typewriter...
There's something about it that makes you think a little harder about your writing, and that something is not wanting to type the whole damn thing over again when you screw up!
I do miss my typewriter though... I wish I hadn't gotten rid of it.
Do you have any carbon paper to go with that?

Ah, I have fond memories of my old typewriter. Dang, I don't even know what happened to it...that is a shame for sure.

I love the sound of the keys - I had forgotten how hard you have to push to get them to strike. You can only bold by hitting them HARD.
