Standing alone
gnarled and bent
in the freezing cold.
Wind cutting to the core.
Waiting for Spring’s
healthy green coat
that too late
would warm freezing limbs.

Nice 16 MonkeyMan! Mine is up too! :-)
Have a great Sunday!
I loved this one Mr. Monkey! We are fortunate that our trees have begun to bud already!
I am heading into work but thought I would try to participate today. My 160 can be found HERE
My 160 have been chiselled out for you! LOL
Oops! A link would have helped!!!

Wow, I am back and it IS winter here at your post. Brrrr.
I too wait for spring. More snow overnight. Brrr.
Love the tree photo. Bare trees always call to me, their character shines through when they are naked. And yes, I know that sounded weird! :)
I managed to get in on the game this week, my 160 is up.

Gnarly....
I Played.
Ow! I take it spring hasn't sprung there yet. Nice imagery.
Hopefully not too late. It's been a hard winter, but surely most trees will live.
Mine is up.
Are we all not like that tree this winter, standing out in the cold waiting anxiously for winter? I think you spoke for all of us here.
Here's my debut into the 160 world.
Ah yes my friend. My freezing limbs are waiting for the warmth of spring too. I am not a winter person.
Seems as though I'm the only one who wrote a micro-narrative. Maybe one day, when I'm feeling saucy, I will try a poem.
ATC - Poem or narrative...doesn't matter. Those who don't read your narrative are missing a great laugh today.
Hi, Monkey Man. I have posted a response to your challenge HERE. I'm sure there will be better ones . . .
...and today I got busy planting 26 little Leylandii trees that hold all the promise of a new season.
Of course even gardening can have its woes...
Mine is here
great visionery.... the tree is very creepy.
great picture...the tree makes me feel sad
I like the tree picture. Winter is far from over.
Love this, MM. The tree looks like a woman running. Then again, I may be very tired.
