Fly Agaric - Sunday 160

Intense rain seeping deeply into soil,
feeding creatures long left dormant.
Rising larger than life
from the spongy earth,
giving way to beauty unseen for ages.

A beautiful bit of writing and great photo too.

I am surprised to see them growing there. I thought Fly Agaric grew in woodlands and were as rare as they are poisonous.

I haven't joined in for a while so thought I would today. :-)

here's - My 160 - Silence.

We had enough consecutive days of rain in Calif, I think I'm turning to mold. I've been disloyal, and rode the poetry bus this weekend. Had too much to say for 160.
see ya next week.

I have lived in the Pacific Northwest all my life and hadn't run across these mushrooms until yesterday. They typically only grow in deep forests in this area, but due to the spread of vaious mulch are now seen in urban areas. They were almost a foot across...and beautiful.
