If you want to help the victims in Haiti check out web sites for Medical Teams International, Mercy Corps, World Vision, World Concern, American Red Cross, World Food Program, CARE or check you local newspaper for listings. Since you are all very computer literate, I didn't create links to the organizations mentioned here. You are on your own. Help if you can.

Everything I do during the day reminds me of someone on that island that is wishing they could do it and wondering if they will ever be able to do it again.

MM - You are so right. Many of us do take ALOT for granted. And sometimes it takes a situation like the one in Haiti to make us look at things a little differently. A wonderful 160.

I try not to take anyone or anything for granted. It's very sad what they are going through in Haiti. I wish I could help them more but I'm finally helping my family for the first time in a long time.

very real reality tight now. i have a freind who works at an orphanage in haiti who is giving me some first hand stories...heart breaking.
oh and my 160 is up!
You just donated 100 bottles of water purification and enough antibiotics to save 1000 people in Haiti.
You also just fed 30 homeless families with children in Portland, since we need to take care of those closer to home, too, and can't forget them.
We may not have much, but if we're here and together, there's always more we can do for others.
I is our actions, not our thoughts that can make a difference. Thank you Azure (Mrs. MM) for taking action.
Reminding us all to help in whatever way we are able is showing by example, and I thank you.

Truly is a sad moment in our time to see and have such loss. I, like many, sit in wonderment of why this happened. This morning I watched as they pulled out a woman that has been trapped for 6 days. He husband was the first to hear her calling out for help. Her words of love were nearly the first things out of her mouth. Beauty even in darkness. I am amazed!
