Free Falling 55

Scan the earth below
looking for a proper place to land.
Concrete and open,
treed and enclosed
or jagged and rocky.
So many options from this heavenly perch.
How does one make
what many would think
is a simple decision?
Jump.
Float.
Fly.
Feel the weightlessness.
Watch the earth near.
Let the wind decide.
Splat.

Indecision will get ya every time. Over and above the message, this is a neat, descriptive and well-crafted piece. "Scanning for the proper place to land..." Nice 55, MM.

The last word says it all!

If I tried to fly, I would definitely splat.
And during vegetarian week, God only knows what would splatter out.

Thanks for another Friday 55!
Mine's here. :)

Blogger is eating up my comments again, darling. It was witty and glorious, too... oh, well.

I like your use of wind, it made me think of all your flying dreams. Don't hit the ground in those, ok? That can't end well.

Great pairing ... image and your words!

Similar to a recurring nightmare of mine--except I probably don't get to the 'splat' or the dream could not recur????

Well done, Monkey Man.
