55 - The Ultimate Price

This is a Flash Fiction Friday 55
hosted by Mr. Knowitall.
For more 55's pay him a visit -
Mr. Knowitall.
 _______________

A rhythmic pinging
was accompanied
by a constantly changing
digital display.
Numbers advanced
at an astronomical pace.
Blood pressure increased
with a dizzying upward spiral
until
Silence
followed by an out of body experience.
Looking down upon himself
from an other worldly state
he asked,
“When will these gas prices stop going so ridiculously high?”

Really good. Thanks!

Ah, you really had me going there, MM. I was still laughing from the frying pan incident below and trying to absorb the seriousness, and then realized I didn't have to. No joke, man--we need solar cars. Great 55.

I love trying to guess where you're gonna take us next. :)

I feel your pain...gas prices are STUPID high. We have a 2.5hr trip (one way) tomorrow...it will be a pricey visit to the folks this weekend, I think.

I fear they will never come down again.

I was not expecting the ending at all. great job. I try not to look at the price so I don't get to upset.

I'm trying to invent a car that will run on dryer lint and cat hairballs.

With any luck, I may never need to buy gas again.

I think that's great - but you have to know that petrol over here is currently running at around 11 dollars a gallon - and the prices have gone DOWN recently!

You might find you need to sell your soul as well.

Good 55!

Great 55 and image! Shall we revisit that film Who Killed the Electric Car?

Take the hedge out of commodities and make them play in their own sandlot which almost economically destroyed us and the prices will come down. Watch the oil companies are going to have record profits again, hedge fund managers are going to get record bonuses again and pretty soon you will eating grass because they are spreading through the entire commodities market.

Just another upward shift of wealth. No big deal we like it this way or so this is what they keep telling us.

Who can afford to fill up their tank anymore? Certainly not me. Thanks for a laugh this morning.

Just think of how good all that walking will be for you.

I'm predicting $5 a gallon by year's end and an extreme rise in electric car sales.

Exactly! Great 55, Monkey Man!

I remember being appalled when gas prices hit $2. Sounds like Nirvana now. I have such sympathy for those with a long commute.

I don't doubt that one's blood pressure goes up in direct relationship to gas prices!! Great 55.
