Is it Summer yet? 55

Summer Solstice came and went.
They huddle beneath the gray skies
in cold drizzle.
Animals committed suicide
out of deep depression.
Photosynthesis was next to impossible.
Movement was only in super slow motion.
Eye contact avoided.
But when the summer sun finally appeared,
they bitched about the heat.
Such is summer in the Pacific Northwest.

ROFLMAO - That's people!!!
The grass is always greener somewhere else.
It's cold, we want hot.
It's hot, we want cold.

I try (really hard) to practice being satisfied.

Great 55, Monkey Man.

ugh...i hate winter and you made me understand why! That's exactly how I feel during the long gray winter months. I don't usually complain about the heat once it's here either!

Ha! LOVE it! That about sums up summer in Southern Ontario, too.

There's just no pleasing some folks. :)

A perfect description of Northwest Summer.
A perfect example of a 55.
Great contribution My Friend.
Thanks for posting so early your time, I know how abhorrent you think that is, but I appreciate the head start.
Have a Kick Ass Week-End...G

LOL.
Yes... kinda reminds me of Michigan weather too.

People like to complain... for some of them, it's the only thing they're good at. :)

Oh, and I forgot to mention that my own Friday 55 is posted right here. :)

my nanny once said that god's in heaven because if he were here, we'd stand in cues before his house, and complain about the weather, heee heee heeeee

I know its so hot, isn't it. I mean last week it was raining and that was bad enough...Mine is mere demonic temptation in this week's 55!

How true how true!!! Loved this!

Animals committing suicide out of deep depression? Man, that IS bad.

Yeah, that's about right. What kills me is that we're getting that kind of weather in Montana too. If that's what I wanted, I'd have moved to Seattle!

Oh I love this!

Sitting here sweaty and dripping, I'm longing for some cold. Loved your vivid descriptions! My first 55 is here.

Bubba said...

Hot stuff!

We humans are only comfortable in a narrow margin of temperatures... anything much above and below and we're griping about it.

drybottomgirl said...

True for us in the Midwest too! We bitch about our cold winters and the first 90 degree day we get we bitch about that too! Great 55!

Great 55 - although I love the cooler, foggy climes of the San Francisco - Pacifica coastal area. Georgia born, I escaped as soon as possible after I finished nursing school in New Orleans. I lived in Boston a few years, hated summers and winters, did two years in Tampa ( too hot, muggy and flat there ) but found my niche here. Still love it 33 years later.
