Parade of Love

A parade of love marched by the sole reclining spectator,
stopping to play music of love and memories.
Only soft groans allowed the parade to know
how appreciated was each and every member
of the march of adoration.
All wanted her breathing in the life they had to give.
All wanted her to rise up and march in the parade
To lead them as she had done for her entire life.
To play with them.
To laugh at their occasional off key performances.
To make palpable the love always given so freely.
To smile and cry with them.
To make each and every one of them feel special and unique.
This was her talent.
This was the ingredient the parade sought to find to fill the void
left by its leader of levity and mirth and love.
The parade wanted what it could no longer have.
Knowing it needed to move on.
Knowing it needed to allow the reclining figure peace.
Knowing it needed to let go.
As the last marcher passed to touch,
to talk,
to say good bye,
the last note was played.

Monkey ~ My heart aches for you today. As I sit here shedding tears of understanding, I cannot help but think how very blessed we are to have been part of something so wonderful with such incredible women as our mothers. Not everyone hears the pain of loss to this fortunate tune. It is a severe mercy....and I am thankful for us both.

Oh no. I'm so sorry. As I was reading this, I was holding my breath hoping it was just another poem. I know how much you've been hurting over her condition. I can only hope the love you have for her, that she had for you, and the fond memories she left you bring you through this. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

No passing affects a man as that of his mother. But yes the last of the marchers has gone by and the parade as all parades do end and hers at least was surrounded by them who loved her and it is on that wing she flew.

Be Well and be strong.

I'm so sorry about what you're dealing with. You know what? Your mum just read that and wanted to tell you just how beautiful she thought it was. She's trying to move on too, but the love you have for each other will surely reunite the members of this parade, in time.

For now, know that she's watching, listening, feeling, waiting, praying, caring, soothing.

May each of you find immense peace, love, warmth and care as you walk through this difficult time.

I am going to keep you in my prayers.

God bless you and your mum :)
